Digital point Photo Editing / Manipulation software options ? I am putting together a presentation that requires some image harvesting and some image manipulation. I am aware of Photoshop and Fireworks but would like some input to which one is better, bearing in mind I am a new user to both ! Also, are their any alternatives out there ideally suited for a newbie ? Some image manipulation I will be doing will be: Cropping, layering, special effects (shadows, textures, etc) an must be exportable as a gif, jpg, and a psd or png or similar ( editable) I have used both for approximate no more than a couple of days and find both are similar, Fireworks is possibly easier to use for me but I have heard there is Photoshop Elements which is like a trimmed down version of photoshop. Would love some opinions / feedback from users out there?? Thanks
Have you heard of GIMP? It's an Open Source software. Built to function similar to Photoshop. There are so many other softwares alike available, CorelDraw etc. Nevertheless, Photoshop still works the best for me though it has some minor limitation compared to Fireworks for certain functions.
Photoshop. There is no better software on market this days.License is very expensive and this is the main problem. But if you work in graphic and web design industry this is must have product. GIMP is Open Source but there is no updates and upgrades on yearly bases and its so old fashioned. But you may use GIMP for simple editing.
