Photoshop Question

Hi there,

I have created a logo but need to make it transparent to go onto my site but not sure how to do this, please can someone help me.

Make a new file with a transparent background and copy the old one over it.

Hi, that didnt work for me

My current logo is on a blue background and when i did what you said i just got a blue background and no logo.

Any other suggestions?

 

You have to do the following:

If the layer with the logo has a chain lock, press double click on the layer and then click accept. That will remove the lock.
After that, use any selection tool (Like the magic wand), select the blue (All the extra part) and then just delete it. That should do it.
Also, don't forget to save it either as gif with transparency or PNG.

Great advice from Sanma.

To avoid possible jaggies you can set a matte (I think it's called) to match the colour the transparent logo will overlay.

 

Make sure you have a transparent background and then save it in .gif or .png

 

yuck, quit using photo shop and use GIMP, its free too.

 

Save it as a 24-png and if it comes out bad on IE6, google "IE6 png fix"

 

Email me a link to your logo in psd format, and I will do it for you.

 

as they say before,make a transparent background and save it as PNG or gif..that's all..
