I've been hearing that Adobe will be launching a beta version of Photoshop CS3 today, but I haven't been able to find any information about the launch on either adobe.com or labs.adobe.com. Does anyone know where this can be downloaded, or has anyone had a chance to play with CS3 yet?
I found the download link, enjoy! http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=labs_photoshop FYI, you have to be registered at Adobe.com to download
I've been playing around with CS3, and I haven't noticed any real changes other than the the menus look a bit more rounded. I'm by no means a photoshop whiz, so you may want to take a look for yourself. By the way, the CS3 beta installs as a seperate application, so it does not effect your installation of CS2 at all.
Thanks for this link, Im quite interested in any changes people have found, ill check it out and post some of my findings.
It's actually obvious that they released this version a few months after the core 2 duo was released. Same as Vista, they wait for the race cars to go public before they sell the tickets to the show.
What does everybody want to see in CS3? Although I'm living in a dream world, I'd like these improvements: 1) Less-Resouce hogging caching of thumbnails in Bridge 2) Faster/More Intelligent Batch Processing of images 3) A crop tool that maintains the aspect ratio (They put it in lightroom, why not CS3?) 4) More keyboard Shortcuts 5) Better Auto-Levelling / White Balance tool << I would love this
Well, I've been playing with CS3 now for a bit and I have to say ... EXCELLENT. The new menus are far from 'just rounded' ... they're much more funtional, easy to use/lay out ... The menu system and useablity is one of my favorite things ... The new version has plenty of cool shit ... The crop does have a maintain aspect ... just hold shift ... or am I missing something? Anyways ... well worth using. I'm finding it to be EXTREMELY stable too. I'll be purchasing the licence when it hits release.
cool, thanks for the breakdown - sounds pretty sweet not sure if I have the $/need to UG but I like hearing about it nevertheless!!
It's very similar... you'll feel right at home ... but immediately some of the new menu systems are better to use.... more functional. It's something you wont want to go back from.... CS2 feels positively annoying to use now. And it's free if you have a licence of the previous version or whatever.
