I want to make some simple postcards that need to be printer ready and have printer be able to edit the file to add stuff like logos and company info. I just need something REAL simple. I have PhotoShop and it is just too much for me. Willing to spend up to $200 bucks. I did try GIMP but found that to be just as confusing. I am not that new to all this and can navigate most software. Thanks dp gang.
Try a program that is made for postcards and the like, look at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/FX100487821033.aspx
Thanks. I use Ms publisher now. Was thinking of something more advanced then this but still not need a collage degree in photoshop. Thanks for the suggestion.
YOU CAN GET PHOTOSHOP, THE CREATIVE SUITE, FOR UNDER $200, THIS IS FROM ADOBE (LEGIT) you must be a student or educator, if you aren't maybe your children, or have your friends with children get you a copy http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/openoptions/student.html Paint shop pro is another alternative http://store.corel.com/webapp/wcs/s...de=US&storeId=10302&catalogId=10103&langId=-1 $109 first look into some tutorials or videos so you can see if it has the tools to meet your needs
I like Ulead PhotoImpact but like photoshop the learning curve is greater than with PaintShop. You can pick up old versions of PhotoImpact on Ebay for less than $5 frequently.
and isnt photoshop element under $200 too? lol, PS CS2 is the one that costs crazy high, and i have it too lol
Paint Shop Pro is a good alternative to PS. You can open almost all PSD files, although some layers will not be there due to imcompatibility, but for the most part if you are just creating, this is a cheaper program.
Gimp is confusing but you have to give it a change and try to work a little time. Ofcourse it's not PS alternative if you think about your visual works in professional way.
It would be better if you go for Ms Publisher first and then PS.. Transition is better than switching! Thanks
Wow, thanks for all the replies. I just downloaded a trial version of MS Publisher 2007 and it seems to have a lot more features then my 03 version. My main concern is I plan to sell these and have my clients be able to take what I make and have a printer be able to use them and possibly make minor changes. I am seeing the 07 take more consideration of this. Now I have to learn about bleeds. How to use them and why I need them... Thanks again.....
