What else can you use to make page layouts and logo's besides photoshop? I love photoshop but I only have a PC version and I don't feel like throwing down all that cash for it for mac. I have heard of GIMP but what else is there? What do you use? Thanks, Hunter
I'm using photoshop on my mac and on my pc and I guess it'S the best way but you can also go for paintshop or equal programs but in my opinion they are not as good as photoshop
There's also GIMPShop - GIMP with Photoshop's interface. And a few free programs: Serif PhotoPlus, Paint.NET, Artweaver. You can also try Pixel image editor (formerly Pixel32) it's very similar to PS and costs $33. Of course, their functionality is far behind Photoshop's, but hey they're free/affordable.
I use corel graphics suite and it does me fine. For some animations i use uleads photo impact it has some decent effects.
you can use corel or illustrator. but one thing i can say photoshop is the most powerful software on designing themes.
Anyone know of a way to get photoshop at a discount? Thanks everyone, I'll check out those alternatives.
i would say gimp (yes i did read your post lol) as a linux user its very much like photoshop and very easy to adapt to i was used to using photoshop and then gave gimp a try since photoshop is not on linux and got used to it very quickly
This looks pretty nifty http://www.pixlr.com/app/ I have not tried it yet. Nigel Edit: Heh, no text tool.
I dont really make logo's much. Just for any certain site I'm creating. Its usually pretty simple. That online photo editor looks decent. I downloaded inkscape, but I havent installed it yet. Thank you for all your help.
^ If that is the case Inkscape is the way to go.....besides learning Illustrator takes some time. BTW have you tried Corel Draw because it is one of the easiest of softwares to learn.
you can check ebay for cheaper ps versions. lowest version you can get is ps7 it won'T ne that exspensive anymore i think
Paint.NET Free, supports the most common features like filters, plugins, layers, etc. It really is a great program.
