Hello, I am building a new website for a local photographer. His current website sucks. I am using wordpress, and am trying to figure out the best way for the photographer to be able to show off his photographs. As far as sales go, they will all be hosted on a zenfolio site, so I'm not worried about a store. He wanted a full width gallery /or/ high def. gallery, so I bought a decent gallery slider (LayerSlider). Aside from being a pretty cool plugin, it is not that great for creating multiple galleries with ease. He wants to be able to drop his photos in without doing much editing, and the full width (LayerSlider) requires image resizing and cropping, as well as constant setting changes every time a new gallery is added. I am currently just going to use this plugin on the homepage, since I paid for it. lol. Instead for his featured galleries I am just using the blog style factory WordPress gallery, which is very easy to use. The only problem I have after styling it is that is doesn't seem to be very "professional" lookin. The client will be adding his own photos to each gallery (same as the blog). I would like some advice for people with portfolio / image sites to weigh in on this. I can't stick with the paid plugin due to his laziness, and the WordPress gallery seems semi cheap?? Here is a link to the website currently being built ( http://jayfaugot.com/wordpress/ ). I disabled offline view so you guys could look at it. Click the weddings link, then "TEST" ( http://jayfaugot.com/wordpress/?wedding-gallery=test ) and give me some input is possible if that is a good route to go as far as showing off photos compared to a regular slider type of gallery. Thanks, Taylor
It won't let be post the links, so you may have to copy>paste them into your browser. (Located in last paragraph)
The best easy way is to use a Nexgen gallery plugin, Design the homepage to look professional and that's it ! by the way i can't see your test website... Otherwise the 2nd solution is using a Stand-alone Portfolio wordpress theme with a good features like (custom homepage, custom menu and full width + blog options) that will be more suitable for you and for your client to manage, add posts and images...etc
