    Apple released them!!

The U2 iPod is a 20 GB 4th generation with a RED 'click-wheel' iPod with the U2 band's signatures laser-etched onto the mirror-finished back of the device, and comes preloaded with U2's new studio album "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb."

Color-screened (220x176, 65,000 color) iPod Photo was also released. Hold up to 15,000 songs and up to 25,000 photos. The new iPod Photo is available within 1 to 2 weeks, for either $499 for a 40 GB model or $599 for a 60 GB model. Both offer up to a 15 hour battery life, offering a 1.5x increase over previous models, and TV out, for sharing photos on a television screen.

Of course more into at Apples site!

Now that is cool!! I like the color iPod Photo. Looks like I know what I am going to ask for Christmas. Photos & music - how can you lose.

    that's pretty neat.
one step closer to the iPod Video. ;)

I wouldn't pay the extra money just so it can display photos, but if everyone else feels that it's worth the extra $200 then go for it.

I have all of my music based in media player. About 35Gigs now....

It would be such a pain to use an ipod now...

I would love to give one of those new creative things a go though...

SE, what media player do you use?
or do you mean windows media player? you use that to organize and play your music?

Anyone seen or used this Wireless Media Player for your home network/entertainment system? It's pretty nifty. :)

    Yes I mean WMP...

    It works great for me.

I haveall my playlists set up and I'm really happy with it.

Plus, it's kind of built into the "XP Media Center Edition" OS, so it would be tricky to switch to something else...

    I love D-Link... :)

You have Media Center Edition OS? Cool beans.
I've been lucky enough to play with Media Center Edition 2005 on a kick arse Gateway machine and I have to say I am impressed.

The Wireless Media Player I mentioned doesn't replace WMP, but if you have a PC dedicated as your media player, with remote and can access all your digital media on the network then you don't need to even look at the Media Player by D-Link. The D-Link box is pretty nice for the price. It's less than an entire PC. ;)

And what is it that makes you love D-Link?

I guess it's a combination of style, reliability and performance...

    They are the best.

Media Center Edition is pretty cool...

I'm dying to get my hands on 2005 though. I bet there are a lot of improvements.

    did it run niclely?

I love the way this intergrates into everything I do.

I'm always listening to music so it's pretty cool being able to have it all controlled from one main box.

The TV, DVD etc are all awesome. I love being able to play with it all over remote controll...

    I'm lazy like that ; )

    2005 ran quite nicely, yes.
I saw no hiccups, but then again I haven't played with 2004 very much.

good to hear you like D-Link ... do you use many of their products?
if so which ones are your fav?

sorry i took this thread off topic.

    iPods are still cool. :)

I just don't get it.. $499 for an iPod that shows pictures? No video? No way to take pictures? No way.

Don't get me wrong, I love iPods (I have a mini), but this seems destined to be a big dud. Make a 20Gig version for $350, and maybe it'll sell, but they've outpriced themselves.

People always think they outprice themselves, but they sell. There is an adapter that you can hook up a digital cameras to an iPod and use it for storage. I'm sure others will think up new things for the colored ones too.
