Photo hosting website, but no revenue at all ??

Hi

We placed Adsense on a free photo hosting website.

I have 9500 page impressions for yesterday and earnings are only 32 cents.

Can't we have some code in which we get paid on CPM. I know adsense isn't CPM model, but i thought they even show CPM ads and one gets around 50 cents per 1000 views.

I think they decide if they show cpm ads or not. The problem with free photo hosting is that people don't waste their time looking around, I know I don't. They just upload, get the code, and move on. I am sure there are other ad companies that offer CPM only ads but I don't know of anyway to change the code in Adsense to do it.

 

You might want to explore the other CPM ads providers instead. Adsense has primarily been using a CPC model. As long as your customers don't click the ads to get away from your website, you will not be able to earn from it.

One idea will be to make your website less attractive than the Adsense ads which appears on your website so that you can drive traffic away from your site to those Adsense sites so that you can earn from the exit traffic.

 

i am not sure about other CPM networks, i do not want to get annoying ads or to show pop ups.

I guess its good to transfer people to another websites.

Maybe the problem is that the ads that appear on your site do not match your content. Pay Per Click ads are supposed to specifically target the people who are interested in the products and services your site offers, so, for them to generate income, they have to be about what you offer (in your case, your ads should be about cameras, photos, etc.) If they don't match, then the ads won't benefit you or the advertiser (this is why before advertisers avail of services like Adwords, they should consult Pay Per Click professionals first).

You won't make very much money from AdSense with a free image hosting site. I can tell you that after having run two of them myself. But, you should wait a while before drawing conclusions.

What do you think will be best ?
Some CPM network like fastclick or advertising ?

Or we may need to find a buyer after the site becomes popular

 

Try switching to commission junction

 

using image alt tags and making a better placement can give better results to you

 

at least you earn something right. maybe try to do some experiment about ads placement and ads type might let you get a better revenue. since you got low revenue it's got nothing to lose anyway. ^^

put the browse form and then go to new line and place the google ad and after that go to another new line and put the upload button centered .

thanks for comments everyone, the site is having good amount of page views now, but no earnings, we have signed up for many CPM networks, will get response in 1 - 2 days.

 

I would recommend you to use some adult ads..

you mean adsense pop up or other affiliate pop up. coz adsense are not allow to show as pop up.

 

we removed adsense as could not make even $ 1 from nearly 100 K impressions.

have been using adbrite, but even that isnt making much. For around 15 K impressions, the money made is $ 1 - 1.5 per day.

 

Usually photo hosting website is not a good option for adsence, adbrite or even bidvertiser. Maybe you can monitor all the pictures hosted and create a similiar or related website and put a links to get more attention from public.

 

what will be the use of making all this effort ?
