Photo & DVD

What I want to do is buy a Photo which I saw in a newspaper, I have gone to their website and payed for the photo which will now be in the mail on its way to me. My question is am I allowed to make copies of this photo and then sell them off to other people? What I'm looking to do is get his photo frame it and then sell it. So obviously it would be cheaper if I could get my own copies instead of having to keep buying it from the newspaper agency who are selling it at quite a hefty price.

My second question, I have recorded some football games on DVDs. I have found that a lot of people are very interested in these DVDs and I was just wondering would it be illegal for me to make copies and then sell them off? Is it possible that each football competition have different rules or anything?

    Thanks in advance. :)

Are these questions really dumb and that's why no one is answering them?

The answer is pretty simple. When you purchased the photo, did you receive a license to copy it? It would have been spelled out clearly for you, because the default answer is no, you may not copy a photograph taken by someone else and sell it. If you are unsure contact the newspaper you purchased the photo from regarding the license that came with it.

The same is true with television broadcasts - they are copyrighted, so making copies and selling them without a license is copyright infringement. The NFL (assuming you are talking about American football) is known to strongly protect their copyrighted material, so you would be running a serious risk by selling the DVDs.
