photo album

Hello there!

I've just returned from a vacation and I'm looking for an easy way to upload all my pictures to my site so that they can be easily viewed and downloaded. Few hundreds pictures.

Do you know any good photo album software?

I used phpalbum, pretty nice script, no database needed: http://www.phpalbum.net/

Anyway, tell us when You're done with that, I guess I'm not the only one who'd like to see them ;-)

 

Gallery is the best I've seen - http://gallery.menalto.com - although, a flickr account might be enough to suit your needs.

I haven't used it, but it looks similar to adobe photoshop album and others. Not a bad route to go either IMO, but I personally don't know anything about that software. You might want to do a quick search at sourceforge to see if there's anything else that you might like. I think Jasc also has a photoshop album utility they sell too...

I know that if you have adobe's product, the albums will translate directly into an iPod photo or video.

 

Dreamweaver has a "create web album" feature that's easy enough for this blonde to use

Also, coppermine has a "mass upload" feature via FTP.

 

Check out picasa2, free from Google.

 

I like using flickr.com as well.

I've figured out it can be a good idea to let people also vote for pictures and leave comments, but it's a bit harder now...

Is there any easy to use script that allows that?

There are many photo rating scripts out there. Usually, they're used to rate "hot chicks" but it wouldn't take much effort to convert that to "hot vacation" pics.

 

Coppermine has a voting script built in - I've used it before, not bad. Also, you can add descriptions to the photos and using html for good linking to other sites
