Check this out... Adengage.com offers what they call Photext ads that you can put on your site... I wonder how well they pay? I may have to try this fo sho! See example on right side of: http://www.i-am-bored.com Google needs to get their head out of their...
I'm guessing not because they would be similar to adsense ads? But then again they aren't similar...they're better!
That site has got Google ads on it -- about half way down the page, almost full width, so maybe! Doesn't I am bored belong to someone at DP? I'd like more details...
Those photext ads kind of...rock! Notice that site has Adsense at the top and Photext on the right. Very curious about how well Adengage pays.
Yes the site has some adsence at the bootm and right side but how do we get it done.....help me if you know how to put it on...which pays?? Bye- Umesh281
so any issues with running this with adsense? sounds like an interesting add-on or alternative to try out.
It doesn't seem like it would be an adsense conflict. It's basically an ad marketplace like adbrite, text-link, blogads, etc. where publishers advertise spaces and advertisers buy ads on them. There might be an issue if there network filler ads are contextual, but I think you can opt out of those and only show ads that you sell. It does seem like an interesting alternative to the other ad marketplaces.
The thing is, it might be good for publishers and extreme bad results for advertisers... I can lot of people hit the back button real quick... once the advertisers figure out that they are losing money... the program can't last long...
I think there will be a problem running both ads on the same page. I remember google tos saying no other contextual ads allowed.
http://www.adengage.com/list_sites.cfm?photext_ads=1 gives examples of ad rates on different publisher sites. An ad on I-Am-Bored costs $80/week and they get 75% (adengage gets 25%). Ads on less busy sites only cost $5/week. So if you have 4 ads at $5/week thats $20/week*.75=$15 week revenue.
These aren't contextual, they work exactly like Adbrite. You set a price for your site & an advertiser signs up for a day, week, month etc. So you control how much you earn. Problem is, if you overcharge or have a low traffic site you'll not get any advertisers.
