Phone Support for Customer Support

How many people here have phone support as an option for customer support?

For a long time I didn't offer it but by using Skype's SkypeIn & SkypeOut service I was able to offer a online phone number where people could call me at and I could answer on Skype. I also used SkypeOut where I could make unlimited calls to anywhere in the world for $9.99/monthly

    I think it's a good investment - anyone else?

I think the orig poster is asking a) do you have phone support and b) which phone service do you have?

My impression is that many of his users are not in the same country he is, and that he chooses to both receive incoming phone calls to phone support and offer to return calls for phone support.

I guess it really depends on the type of website and product or service you provide as to whether phone support would be expected by your customers. For example caddyinfo.com is a discussion forum. I do occasionally get phone calls but often they are INSTEAD of posting to the forum, not issues with logging in or administration of the forum. These administrative type issues are normally dealt with via email.

On the other hand if we offered a service or product and my website was a communication tool for product or service marketing and information then I would agree that phone support would be expected. I would think you would want to engage a phone support service of some sort however with some scripting for normal questions/responses. I would not want people to call my personal number at anytime of the day or night from any part of the world.

Well my intention of using Skype's services was to keep a sense of anonymity and being able to make and receive calls with the click of a button - all at my computer :)

I may be a bit off mark.

For the past 50 years I have engaged in selling Products of
my Manufactur or those of Others.

But I am the the closest party to the customer,
I earn money from the transaction.

My customer base continues to grow because
I am accessible personally. The Buck Stops here.
Of course I receive very few calls,
    Happy Customers don't have complaints.

Most calls are thank you's and
    and testimonies.

I have not found Internet Marketing to be any different.
