Hi I am currently looking into promoting products on Commission Junction and Performics. However, I "bumped" into a problem. I see that, for most of the merchants' sites in both Commission Junction and Performics, there's a toll-free number or sales hotline either right smack on the top of the merchant's webpage or at the bottom. Some of the merchants even have their sales hotlines displayed on every page! That being said, should these customers call in and place the order instead of placing their order online, affiliates like us will not be credited with any commissions. Anyone who is into Commission Junction or Performics care to share some insights about this? You guys have any idea if they have implemented some tracking system such that affiliates will still be credited for the sales even for phone orders? Cheers Jun Yuan Lim
All depends on the merchant. I think your question has been more than answered at http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=100423 . Just ask merchants, but most of the time there's no tracking.
Hi Johu Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it. The problem is - for some of the merchants, they do not even reply to emails. Some of them do not even have any emails for affiliates to send to for questions. Regards Jun Yuan Lim
some merchant sites do not show the number when reached via an affiliate link. Some when you phone ask for a reference no. shown on the screen which tracks your id. unfortunately most do neither so best to keep clear of these otherwise you could well be losing valuable traffic.
So the best bet is to email merchants individually to check with them whether or not they do tracking for affiliates for phone orders i guess?
