It happened to my Co worker too. Almost everyday he register for new Gmail account for his client and He also had that problem. Maybe IP address is in Google's BlackList. I guess so. Sometimes my co worker will asked for my phone number cos his phone number is no longer accepted. If they asked for your mobile phone number just provide it. cos they will provide you the Code to verify.
if you are trying to create so many GMAIL account at that time you need to give mobile number for verification...
I anyway do not create new gmail accounts nowadays and so am not aware of the new procedure, if any. But since it worked for you on switching your ISP, there might be too many people like you on the said ISP doing the same thing as you do and so probably google seems to have blacklisted the ISP itself! Regards, RightMan
I doubt that too now .. I been to my Friends PC .. She has Same ISP but no phone number verification there!
I think it may be better. Look from the positive side. If you loose your password, you can request it with your cell phone.
it also asks me for phone verification though i do not creates a lot of accounts normally 2 or 3 a day and also my ip is dynamic i am using reliance wireless data card
Did you check the official Gmail help site? http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114129 I think this has been the case for a long time for people starting accounts from scratch - and NOT using an invite. If you get someone to send you an invite, you won't have to do the phone verification.
You let your coworker use your number even after his was banned? Soon your number will be banned as well. Seems like a bad idea to me. If google decides the number is from a spammer they may close down all the accounts associated with it including your own personal account.
I'm really pleased to see that! So many scammers use gmail, good to limit it to the legit. Might take longer, be slightly harder but it will add value to their network.
Forget what - but I needed to get a phone call from Google to take care of a couple of things. Then I needed to punch in a code. It was legit.
Yes Gmail is now having the verification code that is being sent in your phone. I think it's their new way of preventing the disposable email addresses..
i also experiening phone validation in creation on gmail account, its true that my IP is in gmail blacklist?
Apparently everyone who currently signs up for an account has to validate via SMS. The bottom line: Read the Gmail forums. Some people say that setting up a Google account first using a non-gmail address followed by adding a Gmail account to that Google account works without having to get a call. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=594d1f76a0491649&hl=en http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=2d252d65e0e4acf8&hl=en
