Today has been the worst day for me with these stupid IDIOTS calling my house. I got woke up this morning at 8am with some old woman wanting the docters. Thats fair enough simple mistake which happens atleast once a day....my numbers nothing like the docters. This morning I got a phone calling asking me if I would like to buy a Credit Card. I simple said I have one a visa thanks for your time.(Not usualy calm) I pressed 1471 (to get callers number) and the number was 011111??? Later that day I got another call from "Visa" asking to confirm my details before we chat about my accountWTF I pressed 1471 (to get callers number) and the number was 011111??? crazy or what:S I called the police but they weere to busy to deal with calls like this now WTF do we pay taxs for? 011111 is not even long enough to be a real number.
Police dont deal with problems like that, they wont start looking into who called you, they only go after fraud where people are cloning cards, where they can knock on a door and have real evidence. Did the fake "visa" call address you by your full name? Oh you pay taxes for police to sit in side streets looking for a car to chase, anything where they can stay sitting down and have fun at no expense to themselves.
they addressed me as my barclay. I called 999 one night when I saw a young boy get stabbed outside my house. 1 hour 45 minmutes later I got a chap at the door saying they JUST them. NO idea how they did not come the 8 miuntes which is stated most 999 calls are aswered in.
Police are so wrong in so many ways, ive nearly always been disappointed with them. One of the worst things ive seen locally is no less than 5 police vehicles of various types turned up to a drug dealers flat across the road from me to check he was ok, they had a call that he might be in danger.
I have nevered called them for my self thankfully. and would not waste my time calling them. I needed them only once but just "fixed" the problem my self after someone broke into my house. All a police would do is take details. While i got ALL my stuff back and I would not a have got the pleasure of "fixing" the problem HAHAHA. for legal reasons I used the word fixed.....HAHA
Yes well the person was a junkie so what can I say and we had him on camera so i was 100% sure. The police wonder why we take things into our own hands. What if I did give my CC details nothing still would a have not been done. Apart from the CC being ripped off and me spending hours and hours on the phone trying to get my money back and prove it was not me. They should catch them early not wait until something happens.
Good on ya btw, pleased you got everything back and the satisfaction too. Regarding catching them early, i agree, seems they like to watch something run for a while so that when they do go in to make arrests its to do a few all at the same time. While trying to catch more or an organised gang or similar makes sense i dont agree with how the police meanwhile use the public as bait in order to try and sting an organised criminal group. They seem to not care that a few extra people will fall victim, they are more focused on how it will look as the bigger picture, the praise they get for having arrested a bunch of fraudsters, when reported they usually leave out the bits about how many more people are used as bait till they do finally bring them down.
we now get so many robots calling our home phone, that we have had an answering machine installed, we have told family and friends, that if they call the house phone, not to hang up when the answer machine kicks in, and that we will pick up the phone when we hear their voice. it must be costing these companies a fortune to call our house, just to have the robot leave a message, that we dont actually listen to, and just delete. :-D
The same number called again today. This time it was a "mobile phone company". The callers name was elizabeth but she could not speak a word of english. Then she admitted she was calling from India. My telephone provider Virgin Media wont do a thing about it they said!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I watched a tv program within the last few years which was about the rise in call center work in india and they admitted on this program that they are advised to give a false english sounding name to UK and US customers, quite crafty isn't it. I do think its getting out of hand tbh, the amount of unwanted calls, mail and knocks on the door that most people get now. I get especially wound up at pushy sky employees who insist they want to see your virgin media bill to compare costs, or energy suppliers at the front door who insist on going with them instead of a competitor. I have a belief that if i want to buy something then il go and look for it myself, i dont want to be pestered by people trying to sell something or convince me that i need it.
