I have noticed on the BUYTRADE section on DP several things. I have not really sold anything there yet but I have noticed people are selling a lot of "junk" "how to make money" e-books.

Most of these e-books are old e-books that can be found on the Internet and people have resell rights to them.

What really annoys me is that people are selling them for $2 or $5 each, which I consider is "petty" money. This amount of money will not make you rich.

Why not have a system where everyone writes their "own" original e-books. Surely, there is a market for everything. I have also noticed several other things in that section.

Person A launches an offer and wants to sell his/her ebook.

Once the offer goes live - the threads value and the value of the product is devalued as soon as people start requesting for a "review". I mean come on guys, what happened to "value for money"?

Surely, ONE review is enough - a detailed review, but what I have noticed on here is that those people who are reviewing the product are in numbers, and therefore, sometimes leave a negative review.

I personally, would advise anyone not to take part in "petty" marketing, pricing their product so low - what does a buck do to you?

    Here's I would market my e-book.

    1) If something worked well for me online , e.g. if I made $50 in 24 hours and I wanted to share this information in the hope of making "Extra more money" for myself I would write a report or an e-book myself or ask someone to write it for me.

    2) I have also noticed people are often saying "Why are you selling this e-book for $10 if you make so much money yourself"?

Simple - the person selling the e-book wants to make EXTRA money or brand himself and be as the "guy who made $50 in 24 hours".

Are you beginning to notice the trend here? People are not taking this seriously. Too many of you are on the BUY/TRADE section pricing their e-book for a measley buck or two.

    3) Create your e-book, price it at a good price, and offer only ONE review to a well respected member. That way you increase the value of the product and also your value as a good seller.

I am just eager to see more and more people learn the ropes before they sell "junk" e-books.

Come on guys - write your own e-books, experiment with things on the Internet.

That's not my point. The consumer will always buy a product, information = power.

My point is people are pricing their product too low.

Not a fan of ebooks but I've noticed this for a long time in other sales. Among other things theres tons of fraud going on like pirated versions of software or software without resale rights being resold, etc.

In general I've come to the conclusion that DP is mostly high volume, low cost transactions on even lower value products and services.

In my experience, most people in the BST forums are in a hurry to get things done. They don't have time to read. All the information is listed upfront but they just wont read, they will simply scan the thread and then ask a question to which the answer was already listed upfront in the thread. This has happened to me several times.

If you offer to buy something, people expect payment in less than 5 minutes. I remember this one PM conversation where I was replying to the guys message asking for paypal information and by the time I was done replying to his message he'd already sent me another 4 messages asking for payment, wondering how long it would take for payment, did I decide not to buy after all, etc. Very annoying!

    Oh well, whatever, nevermind!

The DigitalPoint marketplace is not necessarily a good place to do business unless you have a site to sell, or unless, as was said previously you go for the low value high volume quick turnaround style product.

Information is vital to the health of internet, and whether that's provided free of charge or in the form of an ebook, people will always be drawn to improving themselves, their earning power etc.

I think there is still massive scope for selling information online, and I agree with the OP.
