I have a blog about feral cats, cats psychology, where cats came from, etc. It's a few years old. Selling cats toys, cats beds, cats furniture, and scratching posts. Barely made a penny... I was wondering if a travel blog would bring better income.
Why would you need a blog about where cats come from when everyone already knows that cats always come from KITTENS?
I saw mention earlier today that the self-improvement niche is expected to ramp up over the next few year. You might have a look.
There's no reason why you can't do both. But let's look at the cat blog. I'm guessing you don't have a business plan but do you have a competitor analysis? Do you know what cat blogs offer these days - design, user experience, information. Do you let visitors interact? add videos? ask questions? How frequently do you update your content? As a non-owner but someone who enjoys "cats are arseholes" videos on youtube, I'd imagine that you have an impossible task getting me to visit and buy. So, what are cat owners looking for - medical advice? training ideas? What "authority" do you have to be offering this kind of thing? Do you state your credentials clearly on the site? Travel Equally, what kind of travel blog were you thinking of? I'm in lockdown so travel is a distant concept but I get that the northern hemisphere is rocking along regardless, so a travel blog is not ridiculous. What can you bring to a travel blog that hasn't been done before? It might be a simple as highlighting your district in Israel...
Both do well if it contains unique informations in it. Writing blog for our satisfaction and user needs yields good results i hope.
