i never said i didnt have responsibility? WE ALL HAVE RESPONSIBLITY! IV GOT NO RESPONSIBITY Is that why im putting this post up, is that why i go to the protests, is that why im a frontline member of greanpeace and give £30 a month of my very small wage to them. Its all my fault isnt it, Its gonna run out one day. what happens then, not your problem is it, you probably wont be here. Lets hope the kids can find a better way
Next time do us all a few favors: A) See if the subject is already being discussed here. And if so, don't start a new thread. B) FORMAT the F'n post before you hit 'submit'! Nobody wants to read a forwarded email here.
But you want cheaper petrol. You have no plans to stop using the petrol that's there. The crux of the pump boycott is to make Esso make cheaper petrol. That's different to saying your responsible for the entire situation. You want to spend £5 a day on petrol instead of £10. You have no plan to use less petrol, you want to use the same amount but cheaper. That the point I'm making.
Exxon is no better. This article is absolutely crazy. http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2005/05/some_like_it_hot.html and http://exxonsecrets.org/
you'd think companies like esso so frightened of change should rethink their strategies and start developing the next-gen of reuseable fuels and then supply it, but obviously not interested while they can still milk the crude-cow Cant see petrol becoming any cheaper soon, we will be paying £1 a litre in the UK (so no moanin USA )
Where is dct when you need him? Since when is there a limited amouint of renewable energy? Renewable energy is just that ...renewable Someone already brought up vegetable oil. You can convert a diesel vehicle to run on it with no loss of power for around £500 (I don't think you can convert petrol vehicles that easily)..Hardly a fortune dct posted a few articles on hybrid and hydro cars. THere is even a luxury lexus that looks and drives identical. In germany they have hydro pumps right next to the petrol ones so it is absolutely possible. I guess my point was just in the time it takes to send out pointless emails, you can make a difference. If high petrol prices cause people to seek alternatives, its a good thing! I don't propose taking away the right to own a huge gas guzzler, merely to offer alternatives at their natural price.
Personally, I hope the price of fuel keeps going up. The road are too jammed up, if other people can't afford to drive then they won't be in my way
Similar to alternative fuel source (vege, natural gas, etc), we can also live an alternative lifestyle like taking the public transportation. I sold of my car 2 years ago and now I commute to work using electric trains...
How did you get the track to go to your work...I have only seen these in peoples basements and they usually only go in a circle or a figure 8
well what we need to do then is take over the country, commodere the mansion, take what we need and then leave them on there backs, sounds like a plan.
So let me recap this thread, we got one Greenpeace activist who wants lower fuel prices because driving his car is too expensive. The same person I think said somewhere in the thread that people should use less petrol and oil. Economy 101: Lower prices -> higher use Higher prices -> lower use Lower use -> lower prices Higher use -> higher prices Simple supply and demand. My second point I would like to make is that petrol probably isn't that expensive even today. It's the same discussion that we had in sweden when our petrol broke 10 SEK a litre. If you take consumer price index into account petrol is probably no more expensive today than 20 or 30 years ago. £1 for the litre is just that magical number that makes people whine. Well stop whining and take the bus/train/bike or walk for that matter. When ever the petrol price comes up for debate they ask people what they think and they all complain, then they ask if it will affect their driving habits and they all say "no not really". Then why complain, if it doesn't affect they way you live then it can't really be a problem.
12 years ago it would have cost you £6.66 to get to work and back, and you would have earnt £30 i don't see your point
Well let the post die then, its no point trying to have a proper discussion or debate on this site. You say one thing then someone tries to say you have said something different when you havnt even said it. People are just changing other people words to mean what they want them to mean. Then they backlash them for it. Even though it was obvious they didnt mean that in the first place ???????? Then theres others who just stick up for others probably cause they no them, then theres others that think they no everything and that just makes me laugh (you know who you are). I bet a lot of people do not post here few because there scared of the backlash. This isnt a debate or discussion. This is basicly a small group of regular posters who try and bully the minority of people who have got the gutts to say what they think. People are allowed there own opinions. Let them have there say. On every post about something like this or war or terror its the same people who bully the few who say what they think. Give it a rest guys. Give other people the chance to air there views because are you surprised your the only ones who join in these discussions in a big way. Other people probably want to but there scared. If i was the slightest bit arsed about it i wouldnt have put this up because i knew what i would get back, and then when i do no-one wants to join in because of this. thats probably how most people are feeling.
Does anyone have that picture of the grown man sitting in the corner wearing a diaper? I think it says, "Stop being a big baby!" fryman?
yeh and then one of you says something like that, my point exactly. Thats the kind of thing that will make people not want to post. i couldnt give a shit.
You cut and paste a chain letter email and made the staement that it would make a difference. A few posters merely presented the facts. Then when someone made the point that fuel prices are actually lower now if you adjusted for inflation you said "well i wasnt workin 12 years ago so whats the point in lookin to the past, look to the future" You want an intelleigent debate? What does you not working 12 years have to do with it. I am all for lower fuel consumption and so are many others here. We don't post email chain letters though, we do something about it. Buying your fuel at a different gas station for a month does nothing to cut fuel consumption!
