I see no reason why motorsport should stick to petrol. What they do need to do is get parity between the two fuel sources so that the benefits of one does not outweigh the other as is the case currently in Le Mans where the restrictions on petrol engines are much greater than no diesel engines.

Diesel engines are getting more refined and producing much more power that they ever did,so i see no reson for not using diesel in motorsport.

    Diesel vs petrol !

Diesel is the fastest growing with regards to performance and economy, Results such as the 5.0 V12 VAG group engine that can produce 1000 NM of torque with ease. However petrol is still loud and proud motorsport will never forget the petrol engine as diesel vehicles are beng introduced into smaller cups such as VW Cup le mans ect ect the take over will be far far away.

Diesel tuning has taken off since 2000 with new software upgrades and performance tuning for diesels many cummings and powerstroke diesel engines produce 600 BHP some hitting 1000 BHP (see Youtube).

I could have sworn that they used alcohol as a fuel here in the US.

Are you talking about European racing?

I am not aware of the processes involved in making both petrol and diesel... hence at best, I can advise is to please promote the one whose making and usage is the most environment friendly! :)

in motor sport we should use the petrol for the better pick up.
in diesel engine you cant get instant boost you your vehicle.
so we should use the petrol

I dont care whats being used as long as there is an exhaust pipe for the sound to come out and into my ears, but i prefer gas-petrol engines for car applications.

As per as concerned, I think Diesel is more useful of motorsport in comparison of fuel. Diesel engines are more capacity to load the stuff

Both Petrol and diesel vehicles has "LAG" if anything a diesel will have a better pickup due to the amount of torque it has...
