Lol, illegal??? .Cm is cameroon, and they can do anything they want with it. If you don't remember, unused .coms were also redirected to Verisign "search portal" for some time. BTW, what you don't like about this?
No, the guy I believe his name is David Ham uses some wildcard redirect for any domain typed into the browser that forgets the O and is not registered So you type in something like ladedada. cm forgetting the O in the .com it automatically takes you the landing page The way he gets around it is he doesn't own the name so no trademark laws come into play also I believe he works with the country who owns the EXT Yahoo. cm redirects to Yahoo. com you can register the domain, only then does this not happen.
In my view this is illegal. i don't want another domain to be redirected to my website... i bought the .com to be the .com not .cm also, www.site.cm redirects to agoga.com which includes the site.com frame.. Contents appear like if it's agoga.com's content. so do you think this is legal ?
Hello guys, using an US proxy this only shows Agoga pay-per-click landing page. But using an african IP (moroccan in my case) www.puma.cm shows : Shot at 2007-08-12
While I understand the sentiment, unfortunately there are some rather wrong things on that petition. Just a matter of semantics, though. For one thing, do you mean illegal or unethical? It is debatable whether there will be a likelihood of confusion, which is what trademarks seek to prevent. For another, ICANN has no legal or administrative jurisdiction on country-code domains. As pozmu said, they can do whatever they want. It's simply a question of who gets the money.
1) i think in our case as africans, this is illegal see the screenshot. 2) You're right, ICANN doesn't own national tlds. thank you. but this will be sent to cameroun national registry organization.
1) Any law against this? http://m-w.com//dictionary/illegal If it's indeed illegal, I suggest you check with your country's governing body on this matter. 2) OTOH, why not check with them to see where the money goes to?
this is illegale because (i think) it violate the trademarks LAWs. puma.cm forwards to puma.com using frames and suggest (using javascript popup) agoga.com as Homepage. i still can't believe this is legal !! check this page's source code : www.agoga.com/top.php
Ok, i'll give you an example... xxx.com is a registred trademark let's say for EXAMPLE nokia.com Do you think the act of showing nokia.com's content under the nokia.cm domain without nokia's authorization and spamming the homepage of visitors right ? i know in your casr you only see pay per click advertising because you don't live in africa... i believe pay-per-click advertising is not a problem for us, but why they redirect on only african IPs and others only show PPC ads ?
