I know chitika has a lot of pet ads. Anybody using them and if so, how you doing with it? Im thinking of adding a banner to my site if its worth my while... Suggestions as to placement? http://www.dogflu.ca cheers
I've been using them on ReefIndex and another smaller site. The payouts used to be around .48 average, now they sorta suck at about .20 Double that with 20% audited out last month and it's really not worth the space to run them anymore. I'm going to be pulling them as soon as I get around to it.
tstaut, Can I offer some suggestions for optimization? I've taken a look at your site and have some ideas you could try. I'll use this page as an example: http://www.reefindex.com/browse-protein_skimmer-141-1.html I would move the top eminimall lower on the page, just above the first listing in that category and below the folder icon and the associated text. I would also change the color of the text and links in that eminimall to better match your page, blue for the links and the aqua color for the main text. Then I would make the border of the eminimall white so the border is not visible. I also noticed that you are rotating a variety of keywords on that page. Since that particular page is about "Protein Skimmer" I would only use that query for that particular eminimall. Target the eminimall query to each page. You might also try a different size eminimall (one that is more square than rectangular) to the right of the folder icon and below the Yahoo ad. Who knows, maybe these things won't do anything, but I think it could help. It won't help the CPC or the audit, but it could help CTR.
Thanks for some good advice there tflight, I'll give some of that a shot before I pull the eMinimalls.
hi, i can't speak for the fish pet market, but i'm not thrilled with the chitika numbers on my dog site. low ctr and low cpc. i'm still running it, but at a very low priority. i've even tried some product specific single keyword page like listings like this one for dog food. i've noticed that after serving these correctly for a while, perhaps due to the lack of ads, some just start serving default electronics topics - so watch that too if you want to try my experiment. adsense is much better for me overall. good luck!
