Personal website for users

I would like to offer a personal website for members on my forum, but not sure how to set it up.

    Looking at having something like:

    username.forum.com
    or
    forum.com/username

How can I set this up? I wouldn't mind to have something simular to Geocities... one without a FTP. As my forum has nothing to do with computers/internet, so a lot of people won't know how to use a FTP.

Any suggestions are appreciated. I would rather not spend any money, or atleast nothing more than $15-$20.

    Thanks! :)

I'd go with the subdomain, since subdomains are considered "separate from" the parent domain by a lot of the search engines.

Yep, agree with Dans suggestion, use a sub domain.

There are several ways to do this and one of them is htaccess mod rewrite.

Try looking on hotscripts.com in the hosting section. It depends on what CP you're using and the access you have.

    Hi,

You can either log on to your cpanel(if you have one) and add a subdomain[that way, you'd get username.domain.com] or you can create a new folder on your webspace account and then you will get the same effect for domain.com/username.

I'd suggest you to log on to the cpanel if you have one as it's a lot easier and trouble-saving. :)
