Personal vs. Niche

Just wondering what your opinions regarding the subject that your blog should talk about.

What's better. Running a personal blog where you blog about your life, but also things that interest you?

Or, having a separate blog for your interests and having a separate one for personal use?

    Thanks!

It depends on how interesting (or boring) your life is.
vs. how interesting your hobbies and interests are, and how many people share the same interests.

I personally don't get anything out of reading about other people's lives.

Personal blogs are usually boring on their own, so why not blog about about your interests in a way that incorporates your own personal experiences? Two birds with one stone.

My advice would be to write a blog about your niche, but only something you have an expertise in, and enjoy. Along side that you can include some of your personal experiences on that subject. For example, if you wrote a blog about fishing, you could include a diary of your fishing trips along side whatever else your posting. That's what I'm trying to do with my blog, because it just gives you blog a bit more personality.

if you have many topics that you are thinking about using, use all of them in different blogs you will enjoy them and if you want make more money with them combined.

If you want to keep your readers, stay with the focus of the blog. If you're blogging about SEO, chances are, your readers don't want to hear about your kids or your personal stuff. It's best to keep them separate.

Agreed with the others. Personal blog tend to be boring if your life is boring. Its not easy to make people a fan of yours. Niche tend to be more successful because you got a general crowd looking for their niche.

If you are trading and you are dealing with the golf or Forex market, it will be profitable! Maybe you are travelling a lot?

If your subject is not a potential market, go for niche!

it depends...my domain is my name and so my blog is about me, my business, my art, my poetry, etc..so anyone doing business with me gets to know who I really am.

I have been more successful doing it this way then with any other domains I've had in the past, and I've been making money online since 1997.
