Actually it all depends. Are you earning from directly from the advertisers or you joined an affiliate program that would pay you your share of the income ? If you get the income directly from advertisers then you need a premier account as you cannot officially make money through a personal paypal account. If however paypal is only used for the transfer of monthly or weekly funds from an affiliate you join which pays you via mass pay then you can use a personal account since paypal services did not actually help you make the money, it is just a conduit for the transfer of funds.
Totally agree with eddy if you benefit from paypal service is better to get a premier account to avoid multiple limitation and trubles. +rep to eddy.
i have a similar question. i get paid by writing, they sent payment via paypal. Which account do i supposed to have? premier or just the personal?
Do you make money from writing through paypal ? If so you need a premier account. If you do not make money through paypal then a personal account would do. These two FAQ from Paypal will answer your questions https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/m...lutionTopic=20004&solutionId=11574&isSrch=Yes https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/m...lutionTopic=20004&solutionId=12797&isSrch=Yes You have to note that not everyone on Paypal are using the account to make money or comes from a country which is allowed to receive money so they probably would not have funds on their account and thus you would most definitely need to accept credit card payments or else you will lose a lot of customers. Thus a premier account is recommended and at least you will not end up with the troubles which people here are facing with their personal account getting limited because they try to avoid paying some fees and getting into a whole lot of problems. Just charge your customers a little more to cover the fees and you be fine.
It is always better to get a premier or business account, if you are receiving payment from companies they usually pay by masspay, so you do not have to pay any fee
Very simple. If someone pays you through Paypal for a service or product you provide then you need a premier or business account. So if you sell something such as provide a service like writing or posting to search engines or directories then you need a premier account. Because all these are considered doing business. However if you went out the night before with your friends for a meal or went out shopping but they ran out of money and you lend them some money and they decide to return you the money through paypal then a personal account would do since you are not making money from this. But however if you bought something for $100 and sold it to your friends for $101 then you will need a premier or business account since you will be profitting from the sale. Paypal offers two kinds of accounts, Personal and Premier/Business accounts, they must have a reason for doing so and not like it allows you to decide if you want to pay fees or not. If that is the only reason then it be stupid for anyone to opt to pay fees. The name of the various types of the accounts would already tell you what the purpose of the accounts are for. Personal denotes an individual and it means that it is not for business and not an account for you to make money through. It is basically for personal usage and that means mainly just spending rather than receiving any money through. A Premier or Business accounts as the name suggest is for Business purposes and it is for you to make money from. Okay if you still get it, look at 'Personal account' as 'Customer accounts' and 'Premier account' as 'Sole Proprietor' and 'Business' as 'Company'. Would that be easier to understand ?
still not clear... if i am a person and i do writing for some sites , and other labor kinda work.. n receive payments from them... i don't think that's business.. its rather service but i think u would suggest to have a premier ac for it, right ?
There are two kinds of businesses, one is Product based and one is Service based. As long as you make money from providing your service, it would be deemed to be business. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business A Bank, a transport company, an accountant and so on are considered services and yet they are still considered business because a business is one which do something to make money. As long as you earn money then you are a business, like it or not. Yes, you need a premier account.
Yes, that would appear so. As long as they pay via Mass Pay, even if you have a Premier or Business accounts, you do not need to pay any fees. You can use a personal account for them.
