I used to get all my .info domains for cheap as chips at 1 & 1 but now they have discontinued that. Instead they have .com's for $3.99 I think. I just purchased one yesterday. I feel they are the best in terms of price because whois privacy is included in the price. But and heres the big but, they are lousy and awful with service and customer service.

Let me explain. Once in mid 2011, a batch of my domains went from private to public. and all 1 & 1 did was say sorry. Did you know how long it took me to get rid of that nuisance? For months, google coughed up my personal details because of one mistake from 1 & 1's side.

So if you want moneys worth, go with 1 & 1 but to avoid such scenarios and go for high quality go for hostgator. My VPS hosting is with them, I would never ever trust any other company with my hosting after going through a nightmare with other companies. Trust me I had a $2000 site that went offline for days because of a hosting companys error and again, apologies couldnt fix it.

So do your due research before buying and hit me up with questions.

hmmmm...domain registration and hosting are two different areas.

you were saying you had a problem with 1and1 registration due to their lousiness, and suddenly you were praising hostgator as a hosting.
