Persistence Is The Key

Persistence is the key to succeeding at anything – especially when you are trying to start or succeed in an online business.

Don’t get me wrong - skills are important and so is talent, but in my opinion it’s simply good old fashioned - 'not quitting' that win’s the day.

Anyone that is successful at anything will tell you that there were moments when they could have taken the easy route and given up.

Traveling along a path less traveled - into uncharted waters - is tough, it takes courage and quite frankly that’s why most people won’t do it – it’s too scary!

Making Money Online will require you to step out of your comfort zone, take chances, risk hard earned money, make decisions and sacrifice your valuable time.

And what’s more - you will meet people along the way - maybe even family members - who will call you foolish. Wish them well - think no ill of them - but equally give no time and energy to their comments and soldier on regardless.

And when you have a moment of self doubt -- which we all do -- you may like to remember a couple of the following real life examples of individuals who had others put up barriers in their path -- but they marched on regardless.

'Nobody will watch a show about nothing...' -- what Jerry Seinfeld and co-creator Larry David were first told when they began to pitch Seinfeld.

'There's no market for it. If there were, major airlines would already be offering it...' -- conclusion given to Fred Smith, founder of FEDEX.

'A global, twenty-four-hour news network will never work...' -- network executives' response to Ted Turner's plans for CNN.

'It's a cutthroat business, you've got no chance of success...' -- accountant for Estee Lauder, founder of the multibillion dollar cosmetics empire.

'It's a huge risk and it will never fly...' -- aeronautical engineers evaluation of Bill Lear's design for a jet.

'Personal computers are a hobbyist fad...' - prediction of IBM, Intel, HP and Atari.

'The feedback is the lowest we've ever had, lower than women's bowling, it just won't work...' -- the BBC's comments to Ricky Gervais after a test screening of The Office.

I'm reminded of that famous saying by Henry Ford:
'Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right'

DON’T GIVE UP! Success is right around the corner.

Don't give up, keep learning and notice what works for you and what isn't. Based on your situation, divide the plan between a regular fixed income and certain part of your life to entrepreneurship. It helps to survive in your bad times as you're starting up.

I think we should visualize success around the corner, even if it takes us years to achieve what
    we are looking for.

The way to the top is a bumpy one with lots of obstacles on the way. It is down to each
individual to jump over those hurdles, or jump back to where he/she was before.

It is not easy to visualize success when things do not pan out. The only way
we are going to keep moving forward, is if we have faith in ourselves .

    Thanks for the post!
And yes, nothing comes easy but it's not the reason to give up!
We need to hang out with positive and supportive people.
If you can't do that in real life there are always great books, videos, blogs
to follow! Developing positive and successful mindset is so important!

I totally agree with @Branko - Positive mindset is so important. It's true, in the worst of your times, almost everything panics you and you feel very bad, very negative at times. It's natural but don't let that hope die. Possibilities are limitless and you can DO IT, you really can. It might be very difficult to see through now but hang on tight to your dreams.

The key for me is to stick with doing things that continue to help me online business. So everyday i try to put in lots of time to generate traffic for my website. That way with consistent traffic, everything else will work itself out. But it is true that many people give up just because they don't see results in the first few days or weeks.
Running an online business is like setting up a business/shop on the internet. If no one visits your shop, then of course you would not get any sales. However many people fail to realise that fact. Persistence is really the key. But more importantly is do things that will help your business!
Being persistent and everyday just doing tons of research isn't going to help. You need to go out and drive good traffic! I would say:

Drive Traffic Persistently everyday and your online business will succeed. :)

This is great advice. However, you need to have something that people WANT and that you know how to SELL or market. Otherwise you're just wasting your time.

Yes you have to be able to persist and keep going through any situations. Things will get rough, but it's the ones who stick it out that really succeed.

Thanks for reminding us about how those people were out down as well. I personally struggle with disciplining myself on actually focusing and zoning in on one task, problem, step. However, I am persistent in the way that all of the little things I spend my time on is a sum that will lead me to my end goal. It might take longer but I get there. This point then supports exactly what you're saying that persistence is key. If I still make decisions invest my time on tasks that focus on my goal, I align myself with my dream and will get there.
