Perplexed about Google Search Results

    Hi,

When I type in some keywords, I see google displaying a couple of sponsored ads on the right. When I go to the second page, I see an ad on top, and three instead of two to the right. And you go to 7th, for instance, you find 4 on the right, or something like that.

Point being, I am confused by this. The first page, you only get two ads, whereas on other pages, there are even 4 or 5. Why are they not in the first page, when the first page contains just an ad or two?

How are we to know how many ads are displayed for a certain keyword, when it's being displayed at random like this?

Also, another weird thing happened. When I typed in a certain keyword, I found no ads on google, but when using the adword keyword tool, I found "Advertiser Competition Very High" for the same keyword that didn't even display a single ad. What to make of this???

Second problem: probably because of settings - You can set many details in You ad appearance

Google isn't consistent. Often when there are 3 ads along the top, a refresh of the page wil have only one or two there. It's nothing to worry about
