Hi, from time to time I have receiving "link removal request" from legal departments of some websites/companies that says "links are posted without permission" I run social bookmarking/news websites where everyone can post links to content on the Internet. Just like folkd for example. My question is: Do I need permission to post links? or my users need to? or ...........
It is not clear to me. May be you are talking about some person asking you to remove his link from your site(s). If it is then it's meaning is your site is touched by Google Penalty, so why they want to remove the links from your site. If you are not talking about it then clear me I will define. You may send me PM also. Best of Luck
Yes, I am talking about link removal request. No, my site is not touched by any of google animal yet. They just want to removed because like their said "it is harm for their site" their find out from Google Webmaster Tools. Anyway my question is still open about "permission to post links". I don't think there is such thing exist on Internet, but I may be wrong.
ofcourse there is nothing wrong on posting links if your link directs visitors to a private place of the site, then their request can be true, but to a public place... Nothing to do. I recommend you suing anynom.to in your site so any links redirected from your site would go to anynom and then to the site which makes it safer. If you are using wordpress and some CMS popular like that, i guess there are plugins which do it
Of course you do noto need permission to post a link. O your site you can post a link to any site you like. You do not need permission to do so! Tell the "legal deptartment" to f.... off or paypal you $50 for the time you going to have to take to remove it.
