Permission for every new site?

Is it a good idea to get permission from Google before putting Adsense on a new site, or if you know it's fine, just put it up without asking...?

You don't need to unless you want to try something with it that's out of the ordinary. Or you think the topic might be on the edge of TOS violation. Other than that you don't need to ask.

I don't see the reason to bother google if you know the site is ok with the guidelines

I don't think so.. I just think you should ask them if you have a question about something specific that might be questionable in the eyes of the TOS.

    Otherwise go ahead with it.

OK, I'll ask you guys and see what you think. It's a cloned lyrics site. I bought the database and template earlier this week. www.lyricslane.com - I'm going to rework the layout a bit, but for all intents and purposes, it's just another lyrics site.. hehe. Anyways, let me know what you think.

In this case, I would ask Google. Chances are all is fine but I can see how their mediabot will be confused trying to display ads based on lyrics :)

Looks fine mate, just gotta syndicate a few articles on song lyrics and you're away!:)

(Excuse the interruption at the start I think the AdSense police lot in here are sitting in circles casting hexes on me. I got a bit posessed there, hell, you don't even have AdSense on your site! - but that wouldn't stop them filing a report to Google preparing them) :)

    Good luck anyhow!

    Pete

Thanks. :) Once I clean it up a bit, I'll email Google to make sure I get a 100% ok, I guess.
