Hello everyone, I am using permalink structure of %date%/%month%/%post-url%/ in my blog. But, now I wish to change it to %category%/%post-url%/ I can do this easily from settings in admin dashboard. But I would like to update the same structure to all the links in my articles. May I know how it can be done? Is there any plugin to do so?
You can change your permalink structure no problem, but you will have to change links that you have placed within your articles manually. They should be simple links, why would you need to change them?
If you don't want to crawl all the articles then use Broken Links checker wordpress plugins to find broken links and then update in a single tab.
Thank you both I am giving them a try. But manually making changes in links in articles is definitely a daunting task, as I often link to many of the articles as I strongly believe in Internal linking.
Follow this guide here its great - http://www.searchenginejournal.com/seo-friendly-url-structure/4556/ It uses this plugin which will re-direct changed urls - http://scott.yang.id.au/code/permalink-redirect/
You can use a permalink redirector plugin, so that your old links will also work without changing them.
I just got Platinum SEO installed which made the 301 redirection from old permalinks to new permalinks.
The permalink redirector plug-in works amazingly, and doesn't bloat your plugin files like Platinum SEO does...
