Is perl better then php? I'm starting to learn it. Getting easier. Well - What is it that makes php or perl better.
Neither is universally better otherwise only one of them would exist. As with all programming and scripting languages, each has its own strengths and weaknesses. In certain circumstances one may be better than the other but in a fair amount of the time it comes much more down to personal preferences than a real justifiable reason.
Quoted for truth. Better to learn would probably be PHP, not because it's harder or easier, but because it's a bit newer, being updated a bit more, and if you're trying to do websites it helps to learn the one that majority of the industry is using. Perl was used a lot for sites many years ago, and the PHP kind of took over. I don't see a whole lot in Perl these days, but I'm not saying it's a useless language, just that PHP is more relevant these days.
They are two different languages that are used for different things ... look them up - start with Wikipedia ... When it comes to which to learn then start with PHP and go onto Perl
