    Hey Digital Point,
In late 2005 i created what was probably the first RSS feed reading instant messaging robot. It was called MAKEbot and i did it for at the time new startup MAKE Magazine (makezine.com). I worked with John Battelle and several others in the industry to make an ad rotating system for instant messages, and in the end ended up with an aim bot, that allowed you to check your favorite rss feeds through instant messenger, and allow people to subscribe to feeds so they could have updates IM'd to them everytime they became avalable. Well basically the idea never really went far, because AOL wasn't happy with us using their platform. But all the code still exists, it works, and is very modular, meaning i can create robots that pulled other feeds in seconds. Is there any market for this? Would anyone buy this? Maybe in a corporate setting for announcements or communication?

Does anyone have any ideas for this? Any way to monetize this? Make it better? Maybe open source?

    Input will be appreciated.
