Well, I want to jump into the unknown and start writing sales pages... I've always had a passion for selling, and I'm a fairly experienced writer, so why not combine the two?! So, anyway, I'm looking for some tips on what makes a great sales page. Just simple things such as the optimum word count, structure, that sort of thing. Also, is it best to be informal or formal in your writing style, or does that depend on the product? I look forward to reading your replies! Thanks, Simon
You are asking for tips to make a sales page here and you are creating threads in Buy Sell or Trade forum saying you will make sales pages?Don't fool people without knowing how to make them
Simon, The best sales page is: - Tells the client what the product is - Shows the client what the product is (video/image) - SHOWS THE PRICE - Simple, Clear and Precise - Gives user purchase options, many people hate paypal. PHP_Adam
Try reading before you post. Not only have I done a lot of research into sales pages, I've also said you don't pay if you aren't happy. If I thought I wasn't able to do high quality work, I wouldn't be offering my services.
I would get a good course or two on copywriting to start with. AWAI has great courses. Bob Serling's course is very good. John Carlton's is very good, as well. Dan Kennedy has a lot of great products. (You can start with his book, "The Ultimate Sales Letter.") Read the classics from John E. Kennedy, Claude Hopkins, Robert Collier, John Caples, Vic Schwab, David Ogilvy, Eugene Schwartz. You can find these on Amazon.com. Take advantage of free online resources like Gary Bencivenga's Bullets. The Gary Halbert Newsletter. Clayton Makepeace's Total Package. Early To Rise, which often has good copywriting articles. Read and study great sales letters. Michel Fortin has a page on his website with some of his best sales letters. Pay attention to any marketing emails you get from Early to Rise. Study the sales letters from the biggest and best selling product launches on the web. Practice as much as possible, get your work out there, and see the result. When you can, hire a copywriting coach or hire some top copywriters to critique your work. It takes a serious commitment to do it well. But it's well worth it. Good luck.
You could try starting your own small-scale affiliate marketing campaign and practice making sales letters there...
