People with "Niche" websites claim to make great money

    The most applicable definition I could find was from the Barron's section of Answers.com (http://www.answers.com/topic/niche#Finance_and_Investment_Terms)

    So, a cool idea like a track could be a niche, or a site about dell cd drives could also be a niche. The important thing is that you carve out a little special area, and focus on that.

    I scanned his blog and he comes across as a pompous ****.

    There isn't much that is revolutionary about The Long Tail. It is just a fancy word for niche marketing, a concept that has been around for as long as marketing.
