I thought that this was a no no @ DP. Have seen a few of them bumbling around recently and it certainly isn't cool to look at.

    eg: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=177375

I know that the mods here do a really good job generally and it is appreciated, but this is bugging me a bit (probably a bit sad).

    Is it a "no-no"?

I think it's permitted....and if it makes you angry, I'm all for it! :D

    hhmmm...

thinking about it I think you're right. No-no probably should be hyphenated!

Probably not gonna lose any sleep over this one! :)

Ummmm, what about guys who use there domain minus the dot com as their user name like DigitalPoint and Shoemoney? :D

Sorry, I don't chose to be offended by either approach.

I agree with Notting. Domain names ending with dot com look kinda spammy...

It's not against the rules. I think it looks desperate and spammy as well, but that reflects more on the user ;).

Scroll through all these posts and look at the signatures including mine. Now picture a username with a dot com in it. Which looks spammier? It's closer to product placement or general advertising than spam

your username is a name. What people refer to you as when they speak to you on a forum. It's kind of like an identity. I'm putting a veto on speaking to anyone with a dot com username (disclaimer: there may be exceptions to this veto in the future) because i think its lame...

    ok?
