I have noticed lately alot of people are selling steam accounts that are "working" with many games that could retail for around $70 us for less then 1/10 of that. They are obviously hacked or stolen accounts. Even if they were legal it is still against steams subscriber agreement.

I just came across someone trying to sell a cafe account which is even worse. Here are some quoates from steams website.

"To use the Subscriptions, you must obtain active Seat Subscriptions and/or Time Subscriptions directly from Valve or a Valve-authorized Cybercafé reseller and in at least the minimum number required by Valve for each Licensed Cybercafé Operator’s Site."

"All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights in and to the Steam Software and any and all copies thereof are owned by Valve and/or its licensors. All rights reserved, except as expressly stated herein. The Steam Software is protected by the copyright laws of the United States, international copyright treaties and conventions and other laws. The Steam Software contains certain licensed materials and Valve's licensors may protect their rights in the event of any violation of this Agreement."

"You are entitled to use the Steam Software for your own use, but you are not entitled to: (i) sell, grant a security interest in or transfer reproductions of the Steam Software to other parties in any way, nor to rent, lease or license the Steam Software to others without the prior written consent of Valve;"

Digitalpoint usually takes the stand where it is not their job to enforce the law on terms and conditions provided with products. I'm not saying it is right either, but it would be too much of a hassle to say no than to just allow it to happen on this forum as they aren't really a party at fault.

I saw somebody selling paypal accounts yesterday on Digital Point. I've never noticed that before, but, from what I've seen in the past on here, I don't think DP takes it in their own hands to enforce other sites' TOS. However, I think it's pretty crappy that you can "buy" a paypal account

do you know 100% for sure they do not have written consent?
see thats the problem, if DP asked for the letter of consent to be posted to DP prior to any posts being made on the forums, how long do you think DP would last for?
this is not a DP problem, it is the owner of a product who has to protect his/her product, and that means they have to make it so it is coded and uncrackable,
