I was just wondering, I know there are people out there making money using blogger using adsense, but do you actually promote this blog as you would promote a regular website, even though it is a blogger name or do you just write lots of new articles and update it regularly and hope it goes from there?
Pretty much! Content is king! Write good, interesting stuff and people will come to see it. The only problem with a .blogger site is that you dont have the same type of control over it that you would have with a 'real' site.
Yep you can make good money form it and you can promote it just liek you do a normal site. Don't limit yourself to just adsense try CPM or CPA offers also.
Ya im pretty new to using blogger, I do have my own other websites with my own hosting and domain name but I thought I would do an experiment and use blogger. It is a pretty nice system actually, Im liking it so far. Im just trying to figure out how to implement my adsense ads better!
Well, you might not get rich from it, but you will be able to make a buck or two. I've been messing around with a few Blogs. Not heavily promoted (no promotion actually) or constantly updated, and I made around $28 in a year from them. Not bad for an experiment. I figure if you really spend the time and effort on actively developing and writing content you can do much better.
Blogging can be very profitable especially if your blog host allows you to post multiple blogs. I pay $14/month and can create as many different blog sites as I want. Think about how much money you can save doing this as opposed to hosting each different web site
Yes, I have a few blogs on blogger and they make decent money from adsense. They are very tight niche sites and my problem is simply getting more traffic to them, but the traffic I do get has high conversion rates. As another poster said, the biggest downfall is not being able to manipulate the layout of the templates as much as I would like to. Or at least, I do not have the knowledge to change the templates too much. The tag and ping works great for untargetted traffic, but for me it doesn't translate into many conversions, traffic is traffic though. I do market my blogs just like a "regular" website with directory submissions, link exchanges, articles syndication etc. I highly reccomend using a google sitemap when using blogger.com. The best thing about blogger, is that google indexes it very quickly since google owns blogger.
IMO blogs are not for ads. Maybe a single one to test it, but if you create blogs for revenue only, i´d say you should use a normal webisite instead...
You sure can make money with blogspot as well. Except for that fact that you don;t own a domain and you are less in control, everything else is the same. There are people making 1000s from blogspot only. check out labnol.blogspot.co m
Thanks for that link, it doesnt look like a blogger site at all! Pretty well customized, and thanks for all the tips and advice.
I think the content is most important thing. I have searched for most popular blogs and their contents. I think that finding and maintaining an attractive content is so difficult. Because it needs a writing talent, a good background on the content, etc. The blog should give valuable things which can not be found anywhere else.
Content is good always, but then not everyone can create good content. But if you have the time, just linking to good contents, consistently is a good way of creating a popular blog..
I've hosted a couple there as an experiment and Googlebot seems to take much longer that it would to visit a fresh domain. Having visited, Google gives me about 100 a day for a fairly average blog. Not a lot, but it's all free
Blogger beta has caught up with Wordpress. It still lacks in extensions. That is the only limitation IMHO. In blogger beta, can someone please tell me where to add section targeting thanks.
I think a lot of people would disagree wholeheartedly with you. When you get right down to it, a blog is a website. It uses some type of content management system to allow you to easily post information, often times in reverse chronilogical order. Almost every major "website" out there that regularly updates it's information as compared to being a static, unchanging page, uses some type of CMS on the backend to facilitate making those changes, and thus, technically could be considered blog.
I know a blogger making 2k a month for the last three months (adsense only) on a blog less than a year old
