A few months back I realised that there were over 200 "302" links to my website from my other websites, as my ranking dropped severaly from hundreds of visitors from google down to less then 10. I changed all of these in december, but my site is still not getting any visitors from google. I have around 20-30 external links on my homepage which are direct, should I use a redirect script which uses a no follow, could this be hurting my ranking? How long does it take to regain ranking in google. thanks
Coincidence? I made the changes recommended by Sem-Advance on Monday and my SERPs are jumping up like mad. Not to page one but huge gains none the less.
Thank you for the kind words. I sometimes have wondered if posting here really helps, seeing unsolicited comments like yours seem to indicate it does. I would also say that its a bit soon, usually it takes time to see the full scoring of any changes within the SERPs, so I imagine there is some luck in the timing as well, given that googlebot seems to be doing something within the past week or so.
It did seem too soon (go ahead, take the credit anyway!)... I'm still happy to see the improvements. I also added a meta base tag to all of my pages btw. I think there is some SERP/Algo/Something tweaking in the works.
this thread has gone in completely a different direction to where I was hoping Expert!? where's it say expert!? i call it an SEO blog because I do SEO and to be honest, read more than I write about it, it's a blog about stuff and bits of SEO, not about me and my 'superior knowledge' of SEO, people please!
I was not insulting you just making a comment or rather almost a question as to why it is called a 'seo blog' when it doesn't discuss seo. It just seemed strange to me.And to answer Arcos: I have a seo blog. So feel free to check it out and let me know what you think. I need to write some more articles. I keep starting some but I got so much going lately....
alright then lets forgive and forget about this whole thing, this thread went in the completely different direction I was hoping
