Hey guys. Overall i had a great experiences working with guys form DP but on my last project i ran into few guys you should not work with or pay them.

So i decided to share their info with you guys hoping it'll help you. I gave all of those guys more than two weeks to return me my money if anyone of those decide to do it i'll post here.

    Ok. So first guy is:

    First name: Denis
    Last name: Grachov
    Country: Ukraine
    City: Odessa

    MSN: (Screen name:
    Chief)
    DP name: DenisG_od

I decided to work with this guy cuz of few recommendations i read. He wanted 20% payment upfront so i WU-ed him 240€. He disappeared immediately after. AGAIN DO NOT PAY HIM OR WORK WITH HIM.
    --------------------------------------

    First name: Robert
    Last name: Norton
    Country: England
    City: London

    MSN: (Screen name: rob)

I saw topic about he being crook too late. He's a owner of sophMedia LLC. I got lucky and only payed him 100€ upfront so it was a cheap lesson. Always google freelancers. He is a well known scammer do not pay him anything.

There were few more guys but i didn't pay them upfront. But they did take a job and then droped it after a week or so witch costed me some serious money at the end. I decided not to post their names (yet).

That is why I rarely deal with people here...

it is easy to create a rep ring where people rep each other or itraders too.

    Gotta be careful here!

I'm glad it's a cheap lesson but i'm just that type that won't let it go that easy.

There are both good and bad people in every place. It is our responsibility to distinguish people. Since you have taken the lead in identifying the people, we need not burn our fingers to learn the lesson:)

    Hi there,

That is so bazare to see Robert Norton's name on here as a "BEWARE" DO NOT USE as i too had problems with him, i used him directly from his website, i was lucky i got my money back as i used paypal, he sure was not a nice person to work with.

Yeah that would probably be a good idea from now on...

It's interesting how many people had problems with Rob and he's still "out there". I've made people lives harder for less money than this just because i can't take that someone is stealing my money. Maybe it would be interesting to get some of the people he "worked" with and report him as a international fraud with all the people he scammed.

It can actually be done. I won't go into details but guy served couple of months for "scamming" me for 600€ via eBay (yeah i'm proud of my legal department too :D)

Yes ... There are bad/good people everywhere... My best friend on the internet is a DPer that I have never seen, we have a website, we share our website revenue and we never had problems...
I don't look for deals here on DP because I read there were members with more than 50 iTrader which are actually scammers !!!

Rob was known scammer (as i later found out). But since i posted this thread I've been receiving PM's about Denis Grachov that proof that he is too.

There has been a few cases of where he actually stole huge amounts.

So again KEEP away from both of them. My money is already lost i'm just trying to save ya'll a few bucks.

I like to use GetAFreelancer for the most part because of the escrow system. It makes it much less likely you'll get taken for a ride. I've had quite a few bad experiences here (and some good ones too.)

If a person is genuine about doing a job then they will not ask for payment up front, Maybe half, But I usually get someone to carry out a job, show me proof that they have done it, then pay them. Its a risky business

@ Jon1771: They both asked for 20 and 25% upfront.

And they both talked to me about this job for almost a whole day. it's really wierd. I know i wouldn't spend so much time learning about a job i wouldn't do :S

Actually with Rob that was 100€ and 20%.

I own a small IT company. Our full time guys were too busy before new years so i decided to use a freelancer for one project. It was a pretty big project. I ended up paying 1000$ to a freelancer. Not counting the money those two guys (both for the same project) scammed me for and daily fees (a couple of them - 100€/day) I had to pay. It was a really terrible experience.
