Same problem with me. My ctr used to be above 5% but now it has dropped to 1%.

well, when I am searching for a hosting company in google , I endup in some blogs who review the webhosts, so obviously Google does display ads related to webhosting, so I do click the ads which are informative and useful..

Yes they promote hosting in ads. I have seen some on my sites. It all depends how much people are paying for advertising. Who ever pays the most will get top placement. Your Google search is also customized if you are logged in.

Ok remember123 but you're not the norm amongst webmaster. I remind you that computer geeks, webmasters are the ones using ad blockers, so they don't even see adsense, let alone click on them!

And even if they did click. webmaster/computer people are now only a minority of internet users, we're not in the 90s anymore. Bigger market is common people, and they click more and don't use ad blockers.

Not agree. Only webmaster dont click on the ads but normal internet user click it.
If no one click on the ads, then google will not earn good money from adwords and google will close!!!!

well yes this is obivious to bcoz of the human nature .
but if you really want that people click in your ads . try to ecorate it . for ex: you have a tech blog were you tell about laptops and camera add a image ads in between if the post and like you have a webhosing review blog somwere there in the ads there is a ad were a company giving free trial of hosting so people will be just and click and also encoraged to search there somthing new for their .

I think because they, visitors, know much more than ever before. So, they don't click our ads.

Most of the people know adsense. So ad blindness has come to everyone. So clicks reduced. My earnings became half now.

This is what I said. Today everybody recognize adSense blocks and do not click them. So, Google have to allow us to do changes of ads size, fonts, formats etc... In this case we will be able to create ads blocks which are not standardized and visitors will click them more often. Since first april I have worst CTR ever - Less than 2% and still dropping.

I find that traffic coming from search engines is more likely to click on ads. Traffic from referral links aren't necessarily searching for anything.

I am currently writing an article on the psychology behind google adsense, and I agree, fewer and fewer people click on ads.
