people directories

I have / am developing a number of sites related to specific individuals, not 'celebrities' but historical figures, authors, film makers etc., each resides on its own domain.

These don't fit very easily in many directory structures, I have to find a place or activity related category to fit them into.

Can anyone suggest some People focused directories that I could submit to?

i would think that submitting to the 'arts & entertainment' category would suffice.

usually you have categories that cover basis of your theme.

Yes authors would probably go to literature, film makers to movies or depending on the exact content they might fit in the art history category that a lot of directories have

We have a directory that can suit your purpose:
    http://www.celebism.com/

Although it is branded as celebrity directory, we really mean to cover all "public figures." For example, we have authors, composers, movie directors, media personality categories. And we keep adding new categories to accomodate all relevant submissions.

Best of all, it's free. :)

Agree with everyone, should not be difficult to find the right place for your pages. "Entertainment" - "Historical" - etc. If you don't think your site fits well, you can always ask the directory to consider adding a sub. I personally love getting requests to add subs, I can't think of everything myself. :D

A lot of directories have a "Society" category which you could use, especially when you get celebrities who specialise in more than one thing. Otherwise, just make a point of making category suggestions. They are always welcome.
