Hi! I have seen in several other webmaster networks that people are buying and selling fake twitter followers. Can anyone tell me why those people are doing this? What's the point of buying fake twitter followers?
If you ask me - no point in both. Apart from that, I guess the logic is the same as buying the fake FaceBook likes - to establish trust and gain interest from potential real visitors. So if someone visits your page and sees it has 2k likes they are more likely to believe your business instead of having a page with 20 genuine likes. Its still kinda stupid as you are not getting any engagement from the fake users and ultimately this is what matters in the long run but to all their dues... if there are people ready to waste money on that, there will certainly be people ready to sell it to them
I don't have the ability to give you a like yet but you deserve a big big thanks for your answer I've been wondering for a while why people will buy worthless things like this and I've never thought about the side that you talked about ! Rado's answer is very unique and smart but I also think that people who likes to look like celebrities by having big numbers of followers and fans on social networks would buy fake followers and likes , those people won't care about engagement and traffic as we do
there's this bandwagon thinking that if people sees that this site or page or anything is being used by a lot of people they will use it also
Its about Risking Most Of The Peoples Buy These Fake Followers On Cheap Rates And Then Sell The Account At High Price While Some Persons Just Do This To Get Fame
There is no point in buying fake followers. Getting genuine followers may be more time consuming and requires a lot more effort but it is rewarding as well. You will never get any engagement with the fake followers. People are smart enough these days, they know if you have large number of followers but no engagement on your tweets, they know where the followers came from.
I don't see how it's ever worth the money. I've looked into this in the past for a client, and the real selling point seems to be as others say. Your profile will look more popular if you have more followers, therefore it's more likely to be followed by others. I can see how this would work up to a point, but you'd still need to be maintaining the account with posts worth reading. You'd still need to be engaging with other Twitterererers (and them engaging with you) and hoping that the newly bought followers - who are usually fake accounts - don't just disappear on you. But maybe I'm just bitter with my 122 followers, I dunno.
