I've been promoting Click Bank products for about six months now and I've been through more than a dozen vendors. At one point, I had a few that were refunding more than 50%. I finally settled on promoting two products through trial and error. They seem to provide real value to people because the refund rate is low. So far so good.
yeh same ere. its all about trial and error. and belive it or not but some of the crap does sell lol.
When I was an affiliate with ClickBank(before marketing my own products over at Click2Sell), I would try to only sell the best. My goal was always to please the customer and not try to sell something that they would be unhappy with. It payed off - I did have a lot of return customers who purchased other products from my blog afterward. I really do feel some remorse for the nice, unfamiliar folks who pay $50+ for a crappy ebook that promises instant wealth with no action required.
there are some fantastic products on clickbank... its a pity there are a lot of bad ones that give it a bad name.
just off to buy www.makemoneywithcrap.com !!! It does take a long time to work out what is worth promoting. The publishers who are confident in their product will normally give trial copies or testers to affiliates.
