Selling Penny Auction Site: BidOasis.net - Has active users, proof of incoming payments

I am taking offers on an established penny auction site bidoasis.net for outright purchase or partnership offers.

I simply do not have the time anymore, I started the site in november and brought in a good amount of money from credit purchases and item purchases, but finding a great marketing partner has proved very hard and my outside workload has doubled since I opened. To see the site go here:

The site is like most penny auction sites (see swoopo, madbids, landofsavins etc), the users purcahse credits which they will use to either enter or bid on auctions. I currently have the script designed to run 2 styles of auctions: seat auctions and penny auctions. Seat auctions the users pays a flat fee to enter the auction and gets unlimited bids. Penny auctions are the more common styles that sites like swoopo, quibids, bidcactus all use, where you pay per bid to win. Users like these sites a lot because they are fun and you can get a great deal on the auctions, I even have some testimonials up on the site for users to see. You make your profit on either the cost of each bid (.25c per bid, so a $50 gift card needs to go for 2.00 for you to make money) or on teh cost of the entrance fees the user pays to enter an auction then get unlimited bids (typically, .75c-1.00 per $10 of auction worth for those auctions).

Other features I have purchased for the site is the script license name being removed from footer and a chat box. The major function of the chat box is so people can talk to each other and incoming users will know it is a legit site, also it is a quick way for you to answer users questions.

Here is a quick screen capture of the last few days my site was open (site accidently went down for awhile, we got the problem fixed however). You would be purchasing a site with an active established userbase who enjoy this site very much, and with an established userbase you will find that new people who see the site are more willing to join and will not have to undergo the process of trying to build one yourself, all you need to do is market market market and grow your userbase. Hosting is paid for until March 10th, its a good host with people that know the script very well.

how much is the starting price?

 

I do not have a set starting price, however costs to open the site were about $1700 not including hosting. If you look at a site with the same script like landofsavings.com, there is a lot that can be done with it for people who are good with art, and they make a very large amount of money per day off of users participating in their auctions. If you can get the marketing levels and exposure, you can make good money off of it.

 

One other thing to note is there is already preliminary marketing included, I believe I have money left on revbux (ppc marketing/banner views), project wonderful (great source), and several banners that I purchased off of here that look great in various sizes.

 

How much traffic is it pulling in at the moment ?

 

Its hard to tell, i had awstats turned off in november when testing with teh chat box and we didnt turn it back on (had no reason to, I get most of my visitor information from their sign up info where they press where tehy came from).

The thing with a site (and script) like this is it only takes 20-30 active users on any given day to break even/make small profit, and I am at that level now, all someone needs to do is get that number up for profiting consistency. My active user % is pretty high I would imagine compared to most sites. The script has several features to minimize losses, the most important one that I used which was setting small reserves. Typically I would set the reserve so it was worth 50% item value, by then the users will keep going based on that they have bids invested already. Also another way to make 100% profit is to auction off bid packs, costs you nothing out of pocket but you will make on them.s

Im working on proof of traffic, I put down numbers from my site from I believe november but the site was down the last few months. Money is made because people purchase credits, each time they press bid, they use a credit, and a credit costs .25c. Other penny auction sites charge different amounts per credit, mine is currently set to .25c per credit. Users like the site because they can get a killer deal on an item. You make money obviously by going over that minimum profit threshold mark, which if you have 2-3 peopel bidding on an item is not that hard to do, if you have several people bidding you will make good money on the item and the winner gets a great deal.

alexa is not exact. Alexa shows biased results. I get good traffic and my blog (windows8mods.com) is about 7 months old but my alexa rank is still 85,xxx,xx.
