A friend let their domain expire and only realised today (aprox 2 months later). They are not very computer savvy so I said I would look in to it for them. A whois reveals the following While I have heard of enom countless times and know how they operate I have never actually come had to deal with it before. Now as far as I am aware once a domain enters the pendingDelete status it should become available on the 6th day. Based on the updated date of Oct 31, 2012 shouldn't it have been available by now? Or is there something I am missing? Any assistance would be appreciated, especially an estimate of when it should become available. Cheers,
You are correct. Once a domain enters the pendingDelete status it will be dropped (made available) on the 6th day following entry into pendingDelete status.
If you want to get expired domains then you can get it via bidding system on enom and other auction sites, you can use backording on Godaddy as well.
That is correct. Domain will be released and become available on the 6th day, however, I have seen domains become available as early as on the 3rd day after entering into pendingdelete status.
