Hi guys I have a few sitemaps for my wbeisted submitted to google sitemap but th elast two days I see that this Pending verification although I have verified them long time ago (more than 7 months)!! Anyone has the same issue?
yes the HTMl page still exist. But when I first set up the sitemaps for verification I didnt have the option of META tag. It was only HTML file
they do have a meta tag options. I just summited a sitemap yesterday and it was verified. Also it shows: "Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Dec 8, 2006"
Stelosp...I have exactly the same problem..apart from one site. 5 of my sites are now showing pending varification, and one is showing varified.
regarding the meta tag option this is relatively new!! 6 months ago when I submitted the sitemaps I had only one choice to create an HTML file and upload it. the issue is fixed now!!! My site are verified!! i think what happened is that the googlebot was too busy!! or something like that!!
adding meta tag verification is my prefered way to do this. google sometimes gives error with html verification

We are experiencing a large number of requests for verification. We'll process your verification request as soon as possible. Check back later for the status of the request. So I guess that solves the problem
Check the hosting. I have the same problems before. Google can not visit my site indeed. So I change the hosting and everything well.
