Pending status after submission takes too long

    Dear all,
    I Resubmitted my xml sitemap yesterday (til now 16 hours) but still has status "Pending" ...is it normal ?

    My sitemap contains around 7,000 links and size somthing over 2 MB.

    Thank you for your opinions.

    I've noticed this with one of my recently submitted sitemaps, usually takes a few minutes, must be an issue with Google.

    Generally google bot recognizes the sitemap soon after submission. But during the last sitemap.xml submission, there was problem in the recognition and it took almost two days to be recognized. Did google bot go crazy or lazy;)

    Yeah, it usually doesn't take that long. Then again, I usually submit and check again a few days later. In general though, G is pretty quick about it.
