Penalty for duplicate content on your site

Discussion in 'Google' started by ciucaandrei, Jul 28, 2008.

I have a site where I have copied some duplicate content. I believe that google penalized my site for this and now I want to change my duplicate content. Will google remove my penalty if he sees unique content?

    Thanks

Yes, after you remove the duplicate content, depending on the crawl speed, google will remove the penalty.

I wasn't banned from google. I don't think that I need to submit my site for reconsideration.

Then all you need it to is to add new content and get some more links.

I have went to that site and asked for a re evaluation of my website after I have removed some duplicate content.

How long does it usually take google to review website?

It will take 1 or 2 weeks. If your site will not be back in same Ranking within 2 weeks. Then it is still violation google webmasters guidlines..;)

Remove the duplicate content from your site and write the unique content for your site including all features like relevant keywords, keyword density of keywords.

I have submitted a request for revalidation of my site .. will google notify me back if any problems still occur or update me with anything? Or how does that work?

Also, thanks for the 1-2 week response time, anyone else agree or disagree with that?

Also, this page received a PR increase to 4 when it was a 3 so I still feel as though I dont know exactly what the next steps are rather than to submit reinclusion and lift the penalty off of my site.
