www.V7N.com has been penalised badly he has thousands of backlinks he used to be on pr6 or 7 and now is on pr3 and he is trying to sell his site here half a million dollars. Goes to show you that yes penalties are always given no matter the size of the site.

    I have 3 websites
www dot traditionalirishgifts dot com - since August 07,
www dot lynx2ulster dot com - since August 07,
www dot bigmenslargeclothes dot com - since Nov 07
and the only way they have really been getting traffic is through adwords. I had been reading about SEO and directory submission in particular seemed like a good idea. So I spent last week (majority Thurs&Fri) manually submitting to directories using SubmitHelper. I've probably submitted to somewhere in the region of 250 directories.

Now I'm a bit worried I've done too much too soon. Do you think I am likely to get penalized for this?

    Thanks

I would think you will be fine 250 isnt a great deal. Lots of companies on DP sell services selling 1000 back links and I think if G penalised people for getting 1000 links then the services would restrict to 500 or so.

So I would say 250 per site is fine.
