Since the Jagger 3 (or perhaps the backside or Jagger 2), two of my sites (mystikmedia.com and autoimager.com) seem almost like they have been penalized. It was a very sudden change. One day the traffic from Google on mystikmedia.com, for example, was a little over 800. The very next day, it was half of that, and then the next, it was halved again. When searching for almost any search phrase the site ranked for before, it is nowhere to be found. Should I be really concerned now that the sites have been penalized, or is this perhaps normal for the update? Do you all think it will come back to being more normal? What recommendations do you have? blazemp.com was affected a little. The traffic per day from Google was around 7000 before, and now it is around 6000. Not as major there; that does seem more like Google update behavior. I am still ranking well for many searches on that one. The reason I question penalization on the others is because it wasn't just one or two key phrases that seem to no longer rank well. It seems that every single key phrase I was watching for those, except one on mystikmedia.com, have dropped off the map, which seems more like penalization than an update to me. I use to rank in the top 5 for photo editing software, for example, for autoimager.com. I was page one for image converter for that one too. For mystikmedia.com, I ranked page one for photo editor, photo resizer, pdf converter, resize photos, and such as that. Resize photos seems like a strange one to drop off the map for with an update. Am I over thinking things or...? What do you think? I should mention that I don't think I have done anything that should cause penalization. I don't use any spamming, cloaking, duplicate content, or such. As most of you know, I do buy text link advertising. However, I buy more for blazemp.com than the other two...so, it doesn't seem to add up that would be any problem...
It's really wierd how google is analyzing stuff lately. It has plenty of twists. I don't think it got penalized but for some reason it doesnt feel it should rank that site or its still updating. Its not something anyone can answer so you have to go with your gut feeling since you know your website best. Offtopic but your a link-buying beast! I see your website everywhere posted up already before I even get a chance to review the website to buy a link.
It was an update/change to their algorithim. That could include a new penalty/filter, I think. One of my sites suffered a similar fate to the worse of the two you described. Much like one of yours, it disappeared for 99% of the search terms it was previously ranked for. Mine was hit around late Sept. It could be a side effect of some new duplicate content filter, as has been suggested. Someone suggested the possibility that "penalized" sites are suffering from a canonical problem caused by www.domain.com and domain.com being recognized as duplicate content. Have you checked 66.102.9.104? My site that got wiped out is pretty much back on that DC, I'm psyced. According to Matt Cutts, that server is running Jagger 3 results (1, 2, and 3 rolled into one).
my blog on blogger.com ranks in top 5 everywhere for the main keywords but only on Google it dosent .. tough nut to crack
